2019! and new owl

Happy 2019!  Already an art-filled year in Artlandia.  The human-creature family had good holidays:
The last round of gingerbread was exhausting for Little Miss Honey
Wow - Favorite human pulled the car over so I could photograph this  -
sooooooo many lights!
Meanwhile, the kitties are all big fans of the new electric blanket.
I enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and creatures over the holidays, and now, back to work...

Still a little more work to do on the stump, but almost there :).
I like the owl block very much (naturally - I heart owls!) But...the next phase of work is two projects (and neither of them is the owl; though maybe the owl will make an appearance in the finished piece(s) somehow?)

1) finish and print the large scale blocks for the big figure

2) print large-medium backgrounds, variations from a fixed set of elements (like the most recent pieces for the Zea Mays flat file...only bigger)

I have the press appointment for these two projects coming up in mid-February, so while there is enough time, there's not a lot of extra time (fingers crossed!)

Since one of the upcoming projects is making the landscape backgrounds, I've also been taking lots of landscape photos and trying to figure out what elements I might want to feature in the new plates...
